Yesterday my neighbour's window exploded. It made a 'popping' sound before breaking [see images], but no projectile could be found. There was a strange smell like cordite, which made us think it was a firework, but there was no debris, nor scattered fragments. Indeed a mystery...

I am always paying attention to sounds around me. Lately two Jays have started inhabiting the gardens at the back of the house (where I also run Touch). They make a kind of screeching sound. We also hear the unmistakeable bark of foxes at night. Urban foxes survive on trash, and can also be very destructive to gardens. My cats never go out when they are around...
