2010, a year of contrasts and curiosity.

February was occupied with a field trip to the Antarctic Peninsula, following an invitation from the Argentinean Antarctic Division, recording a variety of wildlife and environments. Truly one of the most engrossing and unfamiliar spaces I have had the pleasure to come in contact with. Epic 'sounding' mountains, white out blizzards, utter silence and an unforeseen swim to rescue equipment all part of the journey.

April saw the passing of my dear friend and companion schnapps, which unsurprisingly took the wind out of my sails. He's dearly missed to this day.

June, I had the pleasure to finally perform live with my longtime studio collaborator Stephen Vitiello at the Art Gallery Of NSW.

July, I finished my one solo work of the year, Densities In Air, following an invitation from Francisco Lopez.

September to December saw a wealth of travel and performance in USA (where myself and Grouper performed some new pieces from a new collaborative work), Europe, UK, Japan (enjoying a chance to collaborate with my friends from Minamo), New Zealand and finally Australia to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Room40. In Australia I had the pleasure of sharing the stage with Tujiko Noriko in our trio arrangement with John Chantler.

Amazing tours and concerts in Oz this year from Tenniscoats, KK Null, Tetuzi Akiyama, Mike Cooper, Kraig Grady, Deerhoof, Xiu Xiu, Tim Hecker, Tujiko Noriko, Grouper, Rafael Anton Irisarri, Chris Abrahams, Pimmon, Alasdair Roberts, David Shea and so many more!

Enjoyed Ben Frost, John Chantler, Andrea Belfi, Aus, Taylor Deupree, Minamo, Steinbruchel, Simon Scott and other fine sound folks in other lands...also enjoyed many a fine meal in Belgrade, Tokyo, New York, Buenos Aires, Boston, Wellington and Praha to note but a few of the highlights this year.

I'm very pleased to have worked with so many amazing and inspiring artists this year....now for 2011 and new dawns.
